There are moments in our lives when we feel alone, hopeless, with few places we can turn for relief. I believe everyone can benefit greatly from engaging in the therapeutic process. My intention is to provide a safe place for you to explore how you may cope better with the suffering in your life as we journey through this life together.
My theoretical orientation is grounded in Family Systems theory and I strongly believe we have been and continue to be deeply affected by our environment. I provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as Psychodynamic Therapy and utilize numerous modalities depending upon your presenting problem and research which best supports the treatment of your presenting problem.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy as well as Psychology from California Lutheran University, located in Thousand Oaks, California. I received my Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Adler School of Professional Psychology, located in Chicago, Illinois. I also hold a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology, located in Chicago, Illinois.
Previously, I was an adjunct faculty professor at the Adler School of Professional Psychology located up in Vancouver, B.C., Canada where I supervised Masters thesis projects and occasionally taught 663 Effective Marriage and Family Therapy courses to graduate students training to become therapists.
I find people generally have the answers to their issues or problems within themselves. However many times with the stress and anxiety that seems to come with events, traumatizes not only the body but also the thinking process. With my tool kit of over 30 years of experiences, training in various therapeutic modalities and belief in a holistic approach; I help clear the mind and body blocking unhealthy emotions to help guide you towards your resolve.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from St, Martins University, in Lacey Washington. I received my Masters of Arts in Educational Counseling and Guidance from Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Washington. Therapy offers an opportunity to talk about events and issues that sometimes are overwhelming. This can result in sleep problems, restlessness, an inability to focus, learn and concentrate. Relationships and life in general, may become more difficult. Just as you would see a dentist for a tooth hurting, l believe a mental health professional can help with life’s struggles.
My clinical orientation is grounded in research driven psychology involving a family systems orientation. I received both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Art in Applied Behavioral Science with a Family Systems Counseling emphasis from the Leadership Institute of Seattle (LIOS), Bastyr University in Seattle, WA (1998 and 2008). In 2018 I finished the alternative training at Whatcom Community College in Certificate of Proficiency in Chemical Dependency.
My experience is with critical incident stress management, family counseling, attachment issues, trauma, and addiction recovery with a multicultural population.

I believe that every person has within them the ability to change and live the life they want to live. Sometimes, we encounter hurdles like trauma, depression, or anxiety, but a person can still overcome these hurdles and purse the life they want to live. Through evidence-based approaches like Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I hope to assist and bear witness to a person's personal journey of self-improvement. Together we will find the tools to address the issues that clients are having in their lives for the best possible outcome.
I believe that all people have the potential to work through the challenges that they are facing, and that therapy is ultimately a hopeful process. Every individual is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another. Therefore, my philosophy is built around creating a collaborative space that will address your goals, wants and needs. My theoretical orientation integrates Existential Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I draw from each of these orientations in order to create an individualized approach for each person. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Whitworth University and my Masters of Education in Counseling from Seattle University.
