How to tell if your child may be using drugs?

  • Is your child experiencing decreased self esteem?
  • Has your child's interest in sports, school, hobbies or family changed?
  • Has your child's friends changed?
  • Is your child experiencing depression, anxiety, mania or anger?

If you are a parent, remember to keep hope.   The first step to helping your child is to identify the signs of problematic drug use and then to seek professional help if you think your teen is in danger.

Counseling services for teens struggling with substance abuse
Community and Connection Counseling for Individuals, Families, Veterans, Couples, Children or Teens

Our Integrated Approach

  • We treat substance abuse disorders at the same time as co-occurring mental health issues (ex: depression and/or anxiety).  By addressing the root causes of substance abuse disorders, we best promote a long term, sustainable recovery.

  • Motivate youth to evaluate their lives & consider changes they may need to make.  We then help each teen develop their own specific action plan for a healthy life.

  • Provide a year-round sober activities program

  •  Specialized programs for cultural, ethnic and sexual minorities; youth with disabilities; and youth involved with the juvenile justice system

  • Teaching scientifically-proven skills to help teens manage emotions and reduce suicidal and self-harm behavior

  • Parents Group sessions post-treatment – promotes important friendships with other parents through support and encouragement
